Yesterday I found myself in a conversation with an Obama supporter who tried to tell me my point of view was unsupportable, So I asked him if he thought as a black teacher in America, are you better off than your were 6 years ago and if so give me one way you are better off? His reply tells the Obama story as well as the story of black politics. He said well look at Bush he was wrong and you won’t change your mind anyway. So I added I will write about this conversation no matter how it turns out just give me one way you as a black man are better off than six years ago? Again he said you won’t change so what’s the point.
Well I have two points to make about this reply, first without honest discourse, no one will change and second when someone reply’s in such a way to a question the reason normally is they do not have an answer. In the end most people know deep down the truth even if they will not admit it publicly and change is difficult for most people. I might suggest not getting into debates about politics if you are not willing to give honest answers when those answers prove the opposition to be true. I will say this, I did not vote for Obama but once elected I prayed he was what he said he was and would help this nation. He has proven by his actions that this is not true and those democrats who supported him then and are treating him like a pariah now are just as bad as him. Please at the polls, whether you will publicly admit it or not please vote what you know to be true not what is expected of you by others. It is time for honesty and it is time we fix our own failing government.
I would like to remind America it is not the color of one’s skin that makes them right or wrong but the content of their character, said by a great man Martin Luther King Jr. Almost thirty scandals later we know the content of Barrack Obama’s character, the real question is will you be honest about it?
