Somehow over the last twenty years we as a people have turned our backs on the government and allowed them to operate without question, I hope we are questioning now, after all it is our children fighting the wars and our paychecks feeling the crunch for our lack of involvement in something as simple as the election process.
I hope we look at all candidates in this 2016 election with a view toward what is right and in concert with our civil liberties and not just party affiliation. I say this knowing that minorities vote en masse as Democrats when history and current conditions should tell them differently. I say this knowing there are Republicans who think Mitch McConnell is ok just because he is republican, wrong again. In fact all of us, every citizen should be involved with our states primaries so that our choices are not a prepackaged political maneuver to make life easy for those in power.
The one thing that makes this country great and better than most other nations is that we protect our civil liberties and live by them, yet as the federal government grows and the states loss power we are becoming a homogenized group of drones who are slaves to our debt and only think of what we can get for free. Remember like a pedophile with candy the government rarely is looking out for you as an individual, that same government is taking your identity and moving us toward a subservient role that no one really wants but we all speak in our political correct way and pray for change, well we are the change, we must be.
Take a look at some truths in this next election, right now for the Democrats the second candidate is a socialist, self proclaimed and no one bated an eye. We have some GOP hard liners who have stated that they are running simply to divide the vote on other candidates such as Rand Paul and Ted Cruz because they do not agree with the GOP progressive view. The Democrats are calling the Republicans narrow minded and racist when there are Hispanics, blacks, women and an Indian running under that moniker for President while the Democrats have produced two white guys and a dragon lady. It is time we start using our own eyes and ears to figure out who is really worth voting for and stop this constant march of party politics that has brought this country to the brink of destruction.
Yes Obama was a wonderful thought but we were wrong to vote for a person because of the color of his skin and he has proven that to us, we are still entangled in two wars and a third is beginning, we are no better off economically then in 2008 and we suddenly have less civil liberties, our cities are rioting and the police are no longer trusted. Can we just say good job Mr. President and admit we were wrong and try to do better this time?
