The story begins with a country of people hopeful and wanting to move forward, a whole country that wanted to grow past racial issues and for once possibly get past all barriers. A black man stood up and asked to be counted and he was, in the count he was found the newly elected leader of a country that never before had a black President and the population is 89% white. Like all leaders this man made some bad decisions and some good but all in all he managed to keep any problems to a minimum and was elected a second time. In this second term the President finds himself day after day embroiled in scandals, each one with proof that they stem from his poor decisions and acts of immaturity, until finally the country wakes up one day and his nation is trillions of dollars in debt, unemployment is running rampant, race riots began and faith in government has been shattered.
All in all one could call some of these scandals just party politics but after over thirty scandals every American knows the man they hoped was going to offer a new horizon to a nation did nothing but stumble. After these scandals of course the country keeps trying to move forward but the President is the same and the government sputtering along and we all know there will be no recovery until the President either figures out he is not the one to heal this nation or he is forced out of office. Both parties know the truth and neither will act on that information.
I would like to say there is a conclusion to this story and I would love to say it has a happy ending, yet this story is not over yet and in the end, it will be the people of this nation that must make a decision and either heal a nation or destroy it. There is another issue that most Americans do not seem to understand, it will take elections at all levels to facilitate change, there are senators, congressmen and state officials that all have to go. For there to be real change it starts with us, we the people who must change first and then take that change to the ballot box. A fundamental change must be made in America and that change today is to change back to the values we have had in the past.
Obama has said he wants to fundamental change to take place, he was wrong and now we must fix the path we are on. In the end we must fundamentally change as a people, we must remember where we came from. Obama has fundamentally changed this nation back to the 60’s and I believe we should now be children of a new century not ghosts of the past.
