After all Franklin Roosevelt wrote 3721 executive orders in 12 years during World War II and George W. Bush wrote 291 executive orders in 8 years during two wars. This is compared to Barrack Obama who has written 193 in 6 years and averages less per month than previous Presidents. I attribute this to his golf outings but you fill in the blanks. By the end of the Presidents current tenure he will only have written more executive orders than George Bush (Sr,), Gerald Ford and John F. Kennedy. Now think about this, one President who served 4 years, another 2 years and a third executed after three years. So in fact he is correct about the number of executive orders issued.
Yet the fact remains that it is not really about the number, it is about the content. Barrack Obama has written several orders that come in direct conflict with the Constitution. None more than his current immigration order. In fact Executive Orders are supposed to be about policy in taking care of what Congress has written as law not rewriting the law to suit the President. In fact the President has no such authority, his job is plainly stated to enforce the laws that Congress implements.
President Obama would like you to think this is about executive orders and the proliferation of the same but in reality it is about a President that has chosen to be both president and Congress and eliminated a branch of government because they do not agree with him. Much like a child in a play ground taking home his toys because no one else wants to play his games. In fact the moment this President wrote an executive order rewriting congressional legislation, as he did with immigration he broke the law and not any law but the highest law of the land.
The only real recourse for Congress is impeachment and to take back their rightful position as an equal branch of government. Isn’t it about time our government, all three branches of it act within the confines of the Constitution and do what is right instead of what is politically right for themselves?
