The “nomination is a deliberate and unambiguous insult to the United States,” Cruz said in remarks on the Senate floor in which he described Iran’s anti-Americanism since 1979 and added, “This is not the moment for diplomatic niceties.”
“We see this kind of offensive behavior for what it is, and we will not tolerate it,” he added.
Cruz concluded his speech by thanking some unlikely allies that generally have been hostile towards him, including Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Bob Menendez (D-N.J.)

Once again Ted Cruz is battling for the dignity of this country and this time others listened. It is obvious what Iran is doing and they are doing it at a time they think we are weak and will cave in leading to other moments of their nation building at the USA’s expense. Ted Cruz is right to say no more and those who stood with him are also right some of them for the first time in awhile but better late then never.
Ted Cruz has been under attack by some of these same people, which I find interesting since he is a constitutionalist republican and some of those attacking him are republicans also. To those that oppose the Tea party I ask you why? The tea party just want s the government to follow the constitution no more no less, isn’t that what every citizen should want. They want the government to recognize we have rights, how is that bad? Every citizen of this country should be a member of the tea party as they espouse the very core of the American belief, that we are given rights by a creator and not the government and therefore they cannot be taken away by the government and as an individual, with independent thoughts are important and allowed to have our own beliefs. Every American should be behind that idea; I find it interesting that there are those that say the Tea party are thugs, usually from a progressive that thinks they can step on one group to satisfy another.
Yet Ted Cruz has once again stood for the dignity that this country should have each day. We as citizens should stand with pride about the nation we have built and look at our past with honesty so that we learn from our mistakes and celebrate our successes. At no time should we rewrite this history to make it feel better for our children, it is who we are and it is what we have done, by knowing this we and our children strive to be better.
Ted Cruz I salute you and those that stood with you I say thank you for your ability to see past labels and do the right thing.
