1. As an American I have a basic set of rights given to me by God, rights that cannot be regulated or taken by a government that is supposed to recognize them.
2. The governments sole purpose for existence is to keep the citizens of this nation safe and provide as level a playing field as possible on world trade.
3. No one individual in government can act unilaterally and therefore debate and discussion is sacrosanct to our ability to change, This includes the President.
4. The Supreme Court is supposed to act on those issues in which the governmental branches act outside of the boundaries of the constitution.
5. American Soldiers who are trained to obey lawful orders and not obey unlawful orders are heroes for their unselfish act of service, an act done so others can pursue their life goals in peace. American soldiers bear the scars of warfare either mental or physical and they will carry our beliefs and our banner into battle.
It seems to me that many of these ideals are being attacked again in this country, not unlike the Vietnam era. It seems to me Americans have lost their will to try and better their lives and their communities with simple acts of kindness and have given that duty to the government. It seems to me that Americans no longer look at this nation as being the best alternative in a list of failures such as communism and socialism.
Each day I watch our inept President offend a foreign nation and side with those that would kill our soldiers my beliefs seems to grow darker and my hope for this nation seems a little less. I watch our Vice President act like a clown and our Secretary of state dance his way around other nations begging them to hate us. We have an attorney General that works against the rule of law and a population that is more interested in the free stuff they can get through the government or through riots then they are in securing our children’s future.
This nation is printing money like we have the gold standard backing and we will one day pay the price for our arrogance as the economy reaches its limit and we all find ourselves in a world where trading chickens for fire wood becomes the norm.
These nation’s top judges have the audacity to site outside the constitution as if what other nations have decided for their citizens is important here. I believe our allies have a right to whatever government they choose but I also believe so do we and the vast majority of Americans are conservatives who just want a fair shake as they build a life for themselves but our government officials all seem to be making changes that the people do not agree with, well most of the people anyway. The Quagmire we have built may be too deep to dig out of and as we become the dinosaurs that are trying to lift ourselves out of the tar there seems to be Americans who are just fine in giving away the freedoms we have made a cornerstone to our countries beliefs and in so doing guarantee our slow decent into the tar of history, where the history books will talk about how we had it wrong as our grandchildren all are on the government payroll with no memory of a better world as they all answer to the one world government that never talks about any ones culture but tells them what they should believe.
So here I am at this crossroads, wondering what to do? Well I am an American born and bred, I have fought for this nation before, bled and watched my friends injured and die at the hands of those who would try to bring terror into our lives. I have seen with my own eyes what we as Americans are capable of when we choose to stand strong and make changes. I have stood with cold steel in my hands and fear in my heart but I always knew that this nation had the right idea. It is not us American citizens that have the problem but those who would seek power and build an abomination to keep it and it is time that we as citizens stand together and say no more. It is time for us to take back our government and do the right thing which is seldom easy but often rewarding. It is time that our voices are heard on the streets and in the voting booths, to echo with those patriots that lived before us and to join with those to come, it is time we as Americans act like Americans and stand for the right things and not just anything.
