Many people see the Tea Party as a group of people ripping the GOP apart but I think of it as more of a wakeup call to our politicians who sometimes feel they can make up the rules as they go, they cannot, and with the top GOP establishment candidates so adamantly against the ideals of the Tea Party, I wonder if it is time for the Tea Party to break off of the GOP and become its own entity, with its own candidates and its own platform. I wonder if the people of this nation are ready to listen to a group of people who simply want what they should already have, less taxes, less government control, more freedom and the rule of law.
It is easy to speculate about this happening and even easier to voice an opinion but I know what that would mean for the GOP, it would become a party without a platform. They would be stuck between the Democrats who have firmly taken on Socialist ideals and the Tea party which has firmly taken up free market ideals with a republic as a government. Yet I wonder quietly to myself how many people who say they are Democrats would also want less government, more freedom and the rule of law? I am willing to bet there are more than a few out there, liberal has become synonymous with socialist but many liberals believe in the free market with a much lighter touch government giving. I wonder how many would appreciate a party that espouses the truth, Government of and by the people and agrees there is too much government over reach in our personal lives.
Many people call the Tea Party names but in reality most Americans were born as members of the Tea party, living in a country of personal freedom and personal determination, a world of merit and hard work yet satisfaction and peace. It is what we have done with that idea that has destroyed this country, socialism in every attempt has failed, with the exception of places that offer a limited free market, which has allowed a longer life span but in the end indicators show will collapse without more reform. In the end our recovery will be in the hands of each citizen and our hard work. Isn’t it time we stop the moral malaise that has taken hold of this nation? Stop allowing our children to believe in entitlement and know they must show some effort to get ahead? Isn’t it time we stop burning our own homes and help each other to rebuild our communities, chase crime elsewhere and take responsibility for the places we shop and our children play. This is really what the Tea Party is about in the end, personal responsibility and less government oversight, more rule of law and less anarchy, more personal involvement and less apathy.
I choose to be held accountable for my actions and to try my best at building a future for this country, It will be the country I leave my children, My neighborhood will be my legacy to my grandchildren. I know for the world to be a better place it will take each individual citizen to step up and say enough and do something today to make the world better. I know that this idea starts with my actions today and all I need to worry about is how I made a difference. The Tea Party in my opinion should separate from the current parties and allow the people to support those ideals and I am betting most of America would follow suit and stand with those ideals. Yet today I will do what I have to too make a better country. On the eighth day of Christmas I give to you the beginning, a place to start, yourself and a country to change for the better because you are part of it.
