The First that should be mentioned is the Benghazi incident, an incident that in the end cost the lives of four Americans one of which was an Ambassador that was chosen by Obama himself and a supporter of the Obama Administration. In the end the administration, whether that was President Obama or the State Department chose not to protect American citizens in harm’s way who were doing the business of this nation upon orders from this administration. Many are divided on this issue but what is certain a decision was made somewhere by someone that ended the lives of four men doing the work of our government. This happens and if you have ever been in combat you know the fluidity of any situation but it should never be a part of any operation and if this decision was made as a political one and lives were lost to expedite some political point this is not a normal loss of life but more a political murder for the benefit of the administration. In this case those responsible should be brought to justice. It is up to us as citizens to decide what we believe and have our representatives act accordingly.
Then we have the Associated Press seizure of phone records by the Justice department. The really large looming question here is what happened to freedom of privacy, freedom of the Press and freedom of Speech? In other words the Justice department in this case acted like a division out of an Orwell novel and confiscated records illegally to help them investigate those that were talking against them. The first amendment gives us the right to voice our own opinion especially if it is against the current government administration, which in turn gives the DOJ no right to take those records, and yet here we are, a blatant breach of constitutional authority and the press itself has in a word forgotten this attack on their very existence.
We then have the IRS scandal, which in short is using a department of government to curtail organizations that have differing view then the current administration, sounds a bit like Watergate. Yet in the end the American people still have no answers on this issue and the President is still vacationing in Hawaii with his family on the American tax payer dime. At least Nixon had the common sense to resign once caught.
We then take a turn for the Orwellian future with our own NSA now monitoring the citizens of this nation, a complete breach of several constitutional amendments but after getting away with so much against the constitution so far who will notice right, well the American people did notice and have called the government out over this complete lack of constitutional knowledge and yet the NSA is still spying and the Obama Administration is still ignoring the fact that they have no authority to spy on the people he is sworn to protect without cause and reason (we call that a warrant by the way)
One could go on with Drone strikes on American citizens without due process, Operation fast and Furious, Recess Appointments, and many others (about 26) but the point is made. This administration continues a streak of lawlessness in the hopes the American people will not remember the previous crimes. Well I remember and I will continue to ask our Congress why they are not acting in their capacity to protect the citizens of this nation? Why does the Supreme court not address these issues themselves to enact the checks and balance that is supposed to exist to stop a President from acting in such a way.
Interestingly whether you agree with Obama or not the reality is his actions are destroying the fabric of the very document that protects the rights of the individual, rights given to them by God and are not supposed to be curtailed for any reason. There is an argument that what if there is no God, well then these rights have been given to us by nature and still cannot be breached by a government out of desire to change the scope of the political structure of our nation.
So on this the Ninth day of Christmas I give you the reminder of the 26 scandals of our current President and ask the American people why do we tolerate such abuse of our individual rights?
