Having said that let’s move on to the main stream media, why is it any network would allow anyone to put spin on any fact, all it does in the end is suck the credibility out of a story make the public wonder why you are reporting it in the first place, how about we try the truth for a change. Neat, clean and no one has to worry about remembering what they said or worry about how it sounds. The truth is that one thing that never goes bad and it would be nice if all networks would try it.
Report an event, what was said by different parties and what actually happened, leave the critique for others who have been defined as opinion people, that way we citizens can make fun of the right people. Yes I say this knowing I am one of those opinion people. The difference between me and MSNBC for example is I report my opinion and clearly state that, MSNBC makes an effort to report the news but it always takes a side and only reports what they feel furthers that message, which for the American public is not enough or even honest, making MSNBC useless to watch, which in turn is shown in their ratings.
Spin is not something for reporters or government officials but I contend today it is hard to throw a dead cat and not hit a news station or a politician that does not practice that skill (yes I liked the visual also). It is time for this nation to ground itself in the truth, find solutions to our problems and above all we all need to stop whining about how everything is against us. If everything is against us we made it that way so we can change it and if not we are just making noise. In truth most Americans whine about everyone that disagrees with them, I for one love the diversity of thought, that is the cauldron solutions will be found in, but most people do not like diversity and that does not have anything to do with race, before you whine about that. Most people think if someone disagrees with them they are being told they are wrong and in some cases that is true but I wonder where we as Americans came up with the idea we are always right, we as individuals are not, so maybe we should open our minds a little more, close our mouths and get to work on the solutions instead of the arguments.
Spin is the first sign of a dying society and our society as shown in Ferguson and Baltimore are on life support, the question is now do we help it along by pushing our society to its death or do we do something productive and bring it back from the brink. I will say this about the solution; it has nothing to do with hate, racism of any kind or politicians. We teach our children that honesty is the best policy, so why can’t we teach the media and Washington D.C. the same lesson? Stop the spin and simply tell the truth.
