verb (used without object)
1.to exist together or at the same time.
2. to exist separately or independently but peaceably, often while remaining rivals or adversaries:Although their ideologies differ greatly, the two great powers must coexist.
Hamas has said that they cannot coexist with occupiers, which is a statement I find very interesting. This statement is one of an act of will not ability, that is to say anyone can coexist with anyone else if they choose to do so and both sides decide to live in peace. In this case the Palestinians have on several occasions been offered their own land to build their own nation and turned it down because they cannot coexist with Israel as long as Israel exists. The last offer happened just before Yasser Arafat’s death.
The nature of Hamas is shown in their actions when they call on a cease fire and it is granted only for Israel to be fired upon and we Americans say bring peace to the Middle East, I would ask how? How does one bring peace to a people that consistently act out violently even when they get their way? Hamas and Hezbollah both act as angry children that do not get their way and their way means the death of millions. Israel whether you agree with their actions has as much right to exist as the Palestinians and yet the world seems to want to paint a different picture.
The truth is that Israel has tolerated these angry children long enough and even through this process they have offered solutions that would allow coexistence that have fallen on deaf ears. In this case the U.S. and the U.N. are wrong, Israel has a duty to protect them and defend their people. They are right to move against Gaza if Gaza proves to be a threat. I would also point out it is Hamas that is hiding behind civilians not Israel; It is Hamas that is the greatest danger to the Palestinians.
I would like to ask every American one last thing, what would your expectation of the government be if Mexico started sending rockets over the southern border instead of children? Would it be one of peace or would you want to protect this nation? Terrorists destroyed buildings in New York and this nation entered two wars still being fought, Israel has been attacked over and over again for thirty years and we expect them to do nothing.
