“Now, here’s the context. Our economy is doing better. It’s growing. Our businesses are creating jobs -- 8.7 million new jobs over the past four years.” This is a direct quote and it on the face seems like a great number, a number worthy of applause and if true worthy of our respect to the man who generated it. Yet without context this is just another number with no meaning. Unless you factor in the job loss of that time period this number means nothing. The reality is this there is a 3% change for the positive in unemployment since 2010 and this number does not include people who ran out of unemployment and did not get a new job. Now is this showing progress, sure but is it something that should be used as a success story? No. Americans want to work and need to work to better themselves and their family’s conditions. We watch our cities crumble as more taxes are wrung out of our pay checks, all the while the President blows sunshine at us by telling us how good it is getting. At what point is anyone going to say hey Mr. President go for a walk in Detroit if you want to see those unicorns and rainbows you keep telling us about. More taxes and programs for the those that are unemployed and forced higher minimum wage is not and never was the answer to these problems. Problems we faced before when Jimmy Carter was President, problems that were not solved until another man opened the free market and dropped taxes. We should learn from our mistakes people, Ronald Reagan had a solution then and it worked the same solution will work today but as long as the politicians in power keep trying to enslave the population with this false dichotomy we will never recover.
“Oh, and by the way, 7.1 million Americans have now signed up for coverage through the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare.” Another direct quote, another complete lie, first the RAND Corporation has already stated that this figure is way off and that only about 800,000 of these signings fit the profile of newly insured. This means that the President is not only wrong but so dangerously wrong that the system may collapse leaving no one insured. If only one seventh of the people needed to sign up for the ACA did so then there is no way there is enough premiums to carry the system forward, which means our tax dollars once again will be to the rescue and our taxes go up instead of down. Enslavement through high taxation has been done before, several men fought a revolution over this very idea and won and this is how we remember their gift to us.
Now the raising of minimum wage seems like a good idea right up until you figure out that government controls on the free market always end in free market collapse and the free market is the real ticket to job growth and prosperity. More people have been brought out of poverty through the free market than any other institution in the world, contain the free market and you enslave a people. A rule decreeing a minimum wage at all is a confinement on the free market and therefore should not be considered an option for growth and yet here we are.
This President is great at giving the citizens what they want but I contest he is really bad at giving us what we need. It is time we stand up and build a new country from this wreckage, it is time we unleash a free market and it is time we tell the government to get out of our lives. Get out of our schools, our bedrooms and our businesses and let us grow or wither as we choose our paths. The only welfare program should be free education and the only foreign policy should be that, that provides our people with prosperity and choice and if we must get involved with other nations our goal should always be peace, free market values and a moral compass that destroys moral turpitude and shines a light on all practices both personal and public.
A welfare state is not the answer but a nation of people willing to help each other certainly should be our goal. Government to regulate each endeavor of our lives is one of strangulation but one that provides safety both physical and financial by creating environments of free thinking and open mindedness is a solution. We are a society of laws but to many laws strangle our growth and too few create chaos, remember moderation and moderation in all things brings peace.
I could go on about this speech from our current President but I have said enough, he is not the answer, he is not providing a solution and he is not an honest man all of which this country needs.
